As a freelance string player, he regularly plays for concerts with choral societies both on violin and viola. Whilst studying, Joel was a section principal of the Chetham’s Symphony Orchestra and performed with them at numerous prestigious venues in the UK and overseas. Joel also teaches piano, organ violin and music theory privately from a base in Chingford, north-east London.

Joel has worked extensively in amateur and semi-professional musical theatre, with credits both on keyboard and as a musical director. He is a skilled keyboard programmer and has arranged and orchestrated for several musical theatre productions. Joel also plays a variety of brass instruments, currently performing with the Regent Community Brass Band as a cornet and baritone player.
